    Clues for Your Hike

    1. From the parking area walk toward the pavilion, which is where the path begins.
    2. Follow the path to the left as it goes around the park (the playground will be to your left).
    3. The post will be on a tree to the left of the path near the Jump-Ups fitness station.
    4. Continue on the path as it winds back to the parking area.

    • Stegosaurus, meaning “roofed lizard,” is an herbivorous four-legged armored dinosaur from the late Jurassic period.
    • They have distinctive kite-shaped upright plates along their backs and spikes on their tails.
    • Stegosaurus had a brain about the size of a walnut, and paleontologists once thought they had a brain in their butt.
